Trend: Colour Me Block!

Fashion is surfing the Colour Block wave and the runways show this trend. Colour Block is a mix of several blocks of vibrant colours in the same look. To get an accurate idea of what colour blocking is, think of Mondrian’s composition with black, white and primary colours in vertical and horizontal lines.

It was in the 80’s that Colour Blocking came in full force, inspired by the idea that “the more shocking, the better”! In the early 90’s this trend was revived by American rappers and then it has continued to appear every Summer.

Therefore the news that the Spring/Summer 2017 season will be colourful isn’t a novelty, since the sun and the flowers are always vibrant and full of colours! But Autumn has arrived and Winter will follow, bringing coats and clothes in sober tones. This is the ideal time to move away of the black and grey and warm the cold with a touch of colour and when accessories and coloured jewellery can give life to many looks!
