Art and Fashion by Missoni

A super interesting exhibition is on display at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. With a bold approach, the exhibition shows how the Italian fashion brand Missoni find inspiration and develop their projects. I say “project” because far beyond the expectation of an exhibition of clothes, the Museum presents Art! The work of European artists such as Sonia Delaunay, Lucio Fontana and Gino Severini is presented at the gallery to show how their art inspired the work of Missoni, turning Missoni’s clothes into true wearable art!

Missoni Art Colour

The prints developed by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni are a clear example of the relationship between Art and Fashion, which is at the same time recognised by some and questioned by others. The exhibition is a proof of the importance and seriousness with which the two “worlds” are treated, mainly around their similarities. Yes, because Art and Fashion have been close to each other all the time, especially from the 20th century.

The MISSONI ART COLOUR exhibition is a showcase of the heritage and cultural history of the Missoni family’s association. It is also a celebration of a family business founded 60 years ago that became an international success by bringing together the sophistication of materials and craft expertise, with the latest design trends as foundation. It is worth checking!
